Coursera - Learning How to Learn

Take the world’s best courses, online.

“Imagine if we could teach so that 98% of our students would be above average.” Daphne Koller from Stanford University.

I heard this quote for Dr. Koller in a video (http://open.sina.com.cn/course/id_541/) about Coursera (https://www.coursera.org), a free online learning platform. What phenomenal is that I got the link from a young lady in China who is taking the same course I’m taking, Learning How to Learn (https://www.coursera.org/learn/learning-how-to-learn/).  We’re taking it with over 400,000 other students. The same platform is used to offer other free courses from top universities around the country. I learned about this new course because I took another great course of this platform, Positive Psychology. https://www.coursera.org/learn/positive-psychology that has changed my life forever.

The moral to this story is simple. Hundreds of thousands of students from all around the world are getting .access to the courses that students in the USA only get by attending top universities; and they are forming learning communities and study groups along the way. And you can get in on a mobile app too. This is the future of education staring us in the face today!

Is there something you want to learn? Check out Coursera and while you’re at it, check out edX (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EdX) too. edX is another massive open online course (MOOC) provider where I took another course, The Science of Happiness (https://www.edx.org/course/science-happiness-uc-berkeleyx-gg101x-2), another great course that comes highly recommended.

Don’t put so much energy into achieving your goals that you forget to have fun where you are now. Remember, life is not a destination, it is a journey; it is learning from and enjoying all the experiences along the way!
